Tomaso Sillani
Tomaso Sillani (1888–1961) was an Italian journalist, writer, literary critic, and political editor associated with Italian nationalism and Fascism. Born in Otricoli, he began his career in literary and artistic criticism before becoming involved in nationalist politics during the First World War, particularly advocating Italian territorial claims in the Adriatic and Dalmatia. In 1918, he founded La Rassegna Italiana, a political, literary, and cultural journal featuring contributions from prominent Italian intellectuals, including Giovanni Gentile and Enrico Corradini.
Sillani edited numerous publications concerning Fascist political institutions, economic organization, and Italian foreign policy. Among his works were Lo Stato Mussoliniano (1930), published in English as What Is Fascism and Why? (1931), and L'Impero (1937). After the Second World War, he helped establish the Italian Centre for Studies and Publications for International Reconciliation in 1945. He continued his editorial and scholarly activities until his death in Rome on November 9, 1961.
