Mario Palmieri
Mario Palmieri was a twentieth-century political writer associated with the philosophical interpretation of Italian Fascism. He is principally known for The Philosophy of Fascism (1936), published in Chicago by the Dante Alighieri Society. The work presents Fascism as a comprehensive philosophy of life, drawing on idealism and examining the relationship between the individual, society, and the state.
Palmieri's writings emphasize spiritual values, authority, duty, national unity, and corporatism while criticizing liberal individualism and materialism. His work sought to provide a systematic explanation of Fascist doctrine for an English-speaking audience. Little reliable biographical information about Palmieri survives, and his birth and death dates remain uncertain.
